A few months after its debut at the Town Hall in 1976, minimalist composer Steve Reich brought his masterpiece to the Festival d'Automne in Paris. Despite the masterful display, the live recording of that night's performance never had the commercial release it deserved.

The design is to create a typographic album design for the performance. The design takes cues from the unique composition of the music - repetition and counterpoints - and translates these melodic features into a typographic rhythm, still maintaining a minimalistic structure just like the music itself.

Main Typeface: Neue Hass Grotesk

*This project is a non-commercial experimental work and has received permission from Steve Reich representative from Nonesuch Records.

"I believe in the power of repetition and pattern to create both depth and intensity in music."
